2007 Dodge Nitro Review

2007 Dodge Nitro Review The Nitro is a small SUV debuting for 2007. Unlike most vehicles in this class, the Nitro carries a distinctly masculine look. Based upon the Jeep Liberty, the Nitro, with its Ram-inspired grille, definitely seeks a male audience.

The BuyingAdvice Team Says:

The Dodge Nitro is an impressive beast. Well priced, with powerful engines and a full line of standard safety features, the Nitro is perhaps Dodge’s best new offering. Costing thousands less than similar models, the Nitro is an excellent buy.

What’s New For 2007:

The Nitro is all-new for 2007. Three trims are available: SXT, SLT, and R/T. The SXT and SLT both feature a 210 hp 3.7-L V6 while the R/T/ packs a 255 hp 4.0-L V6. It costs $2,600 less than the Ford Escape XLT and has a larger engine, though the Escape has an automatic. It costs $2,000 less than the Hyundai Santa Fe GLS, has a larger engine, 25 more hp, and a six-speed transmission.

What Others Are Saying:

“We think the Nitro not only looks great but is different enough from its Jeep sibling that this bit of internal rule busting will help Dodge far more than it will hurt Jeep.”Automobile Magazine

“The center navigation screen and robust transmission shifter complement the rugged and functional feel as well.”Truck Trend

“There are three types of upholstery: basic cloth, a handsome stain-repellant cloth, and beautiful perforated leather. No matter which covering, the seats are very comfortable. The cabin is quiet thanks to heavy use of sound deadening material, and visibility out the rear and to the front corners of the Nitro is excellent.”Automotive.com
