2008 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Review
The E-Class is a midsize luxury sedan first introduced in 1953. The "E" stands for the German word for fuel injection, which was cutting edge technology at the time. The seventh and current generation debuted in 2003. It was updated in 2007 with the addition of the AMG Wagon and the environmentally friendly E320 BLUETEC. The E-Class was Motor Trend's "Import Car of the Year" in 1996.

J.D. Power information is not currently available. Problems with the last generation included malfunctioning fuel tank sensors and prematurely burning out lights. It was recalled three times. The basic warranty lasts for four years or 50,000 miles.

What Others Are Saying:
"The elegant and capable Mercedes-Benz E-Class Sedan resides at the center of the extensive Mercedes-Benz passenger-car line. It strikes a nice balance between luxury and performance, with a bit more brand cachet than the Asian imports can deliver. A wide model selection ranges from a fuel-frugal, diesel-powered E320 Bluetec Sedan to a tire-smoking, high-performance AMG variant." - Forbes
"The E-Class features some of the world's most advanced safety technology. And, what most people think of when they think of Mercedes, the E-Class expresses status in elegant, understated fashion." - New York Times
"What a Benz should be' actually describes the E500 overall. The issues with electronics were minor gripes in an otherwise great car." - Automobile Magazine
