Toyota T100( 1993 - 1998), Tundra (2000 - Present)
8.6 out of 10

Toyota T100, TundraThe T100 never succeeded in the US market because as a full-size pickup with only a V6 engine, it wasn't a match for competitors, so Toyota ended its production in 1998 and replaced it with the Tundra for the 2000 model year. The first Tundra was powered by a 4.7-liter, 245 horsepower V8 engine. The Tundra is smaller than Ford F-150, Dodge Ram, Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, but it is effortless to drive, quick and responsive, yet can tow 7,100 pounds.

Toyota TacomaThe Toyota Tacoma came into existence when the Toyota Hilux, which debuted in 1969, was renamed and the first trucks rolled off a US assembly line in 1995. The Tacoma was redesigned in 1998 with changes to the frame and updated in 2005, and is based on the new Land Rover Prado chassis. The Tacoma was Motor Trend magazine's 2005 Truck of the Year, and we concur that it is a great truck that will serve you well.

The Frontier, in reality a mid-sized truck, now has a towing capacity of 6,500 pounds and is powered by a 4.0-liter, 265 horsepower VQ-family V6 engine. A six-speed manual transmission is standard.
