The T100 never succeeded in the US market because as a full-size pickup with only a V6 engine, it wasn't a match for competitors, so Toyota ended its production in 1998 and replaced it with the Tundra for the 2000 model year. The Frontier hit the American market in 1998 and floundered for awhile until a significant redesign made it bigger and more appealing. In 2005, the Frontier was redesigned, converting it to the new Nissan F-Alpha platform, which brought it more in line with a full-size truck. The Frontier, in reality a mid-sized truck, now has a towing capacity of 6,500 pounds and is powered by a 4.0-liter, 265 horsepower VQ-family V6 engine. The Baja hit the American market in 2003, and although it was discontinued, it's a versatile, reliable vehicle. This crossover from Subaru brings together a short pickup bed and a 4-door sedan; it is only available with full-time all-wheel drive.
