New car prices can be intimidating, but there are a good variety of affordable new vehicles available. We have put together a list of the best new vehicles under $15,000:

The 2012 Honda Civic is a compact sedan. It has a 140-hp, 1.8-liter, I4 engine. All Civics come with front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags and active front head restraints.

The 2012 Scion xD is a subcompact wagon. It has a 128-hp, 1.8-liter, 4-cylinder engine. It comes with standard AC, cruise control, full power accessories, a tilt steering wheel and a six-speaker stereo with a single CD/MP3 player with iPod/USB connectivity.

The 2012 Ford Focus is a compact car. It has a 160-hp, 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder engine. The standard transmission on all trims is a five speed manual. A six speed automatic “powershift” is optional.

The 2012 Mitsubishi Lancer is a 4-door family sedan. A 168-hp, 2.4-liter, 4-cylinder engine is newly standard on the GTS trim level. The DE and ES trims have a 148-hp, 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder engine.

The 2012 Suzuki SX4 is a compact car. All SX4 models are powered by a 150-hp, 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder engine. Front-wheel drive is standard, but all-wheel drive is available on the hatchback.

2012 Jeep Patriot is a 4—door 5-passenger SUV which has been redesigned from 2011. It has been made available in four trims beginning with the 4×2, 158hp 2.0 liter engine, all the way to the 4×4 172hp 2.4 liter engine. It comes standard with a 5-sped manual transmission and optional variable speed automatic transmission.
