2007 Subaru B9 Tribeca Review
The Tribeca is a midsize crossover SUV that first debuted for 2006. It’s their first full SUV and their first vehicle that can seat seven passengers. With standard all-wheel drive, the Tribeca is to set compete against some of the best-selling vehicles on the market. But can it keep up with the pack?
The BuyingAdvice Team Says:
The Subaru B9 Tribeca is an ambitious effort. It wins for standard all-wheel drive and its excellent safety and reliability record. Unfortunately, it comes closer to the luxury mark in price, and its engine is nothing to write home about. But the Tribeca is an all-in-all solid product, and worthy of your consideration.
What’s New For 2007:

Head-To-Head Competition:
The 2008 Land Rover LR2 adds leather seats, a moonroof, and a CD changer. However, it costs $4,000 more and can’t carry as much. The Acura RDX include a moonroof, CD changer, and leather seats, but has a smaller engine and costs $3,000 more. The 2008 Hummer H3 has a smaller engine and can’t carry as much.
What Others Are Saying:
“The B9 Tribeca is the largest Subaru ever and a unique-looking, competent entrant to a highly competitive segment.” – Forbes
“The success or failure of the Tribeca will determine whether the Subaru brand can extend beyond its core competences of value, utility, and simplicity. If you have seven people to haul, a minivan makes more sense than any mid-size SUV. Clearly, Subaru is hoping that some of its customers aren’t as sensible as they once were.” – Automobile Magazine
“The 2006 Subaru B9 Tribeca tries to be too many things to too many people, its gimmicky exterior styling representing the car accurately in this regard. But under the skin, a competent chassis and well-designed electronic systems await.” – C|Net
