Once again, the little Korean automaker that could comes out swinging with the Hyundai Sonata. Offering a full array of standard features for less than any of its competitors, the Sonata is the best bargain in this category. Neither the Altima, Camry or Accord can compete with the Sonata in terms of pure value.

What's New For 2008:

All models now feature a standard four-cylinder, with the V6 being optional. The SE now includes a spoiler, power driver seat and performance tires. The Limited features a standard Infinity stereo with XM radio, MP3 playback, and a six-disc CD changer.

Pros and Cons:

Pros
+ Great value
+ Full array of safety features
+ Lengthy warranty

Cons
- Mediocre handling
- Somewhat cramped seating
- Lacks some of Toyota/Honda's refinement

Head-To-Head Competition:

The Nissan Altima costs about $600 more, but has over ten more hp. However, it lacks standard stability and traction control. The Toyota Camry costs nearly $1,000 more, has four less hp and lacks stability/traction control. The Honda Accord costs over $2,500 more, has 15 more hp, but otherwise matches the Sonata in features.
