2007 Audi A8 Review

The BuyingAdvice Team Says:

If you're one of the lucky few who can spend $70,000 or more on a car, the Audi A8 is money well spent. At its price, it beats the rest in features and matches or exceeds them in reliability. Its standard AWD really sets it ahead of the pack, making it a top contender in this tier.

What's New For 2007:

A new 4.2-L, 350-hp V8 is now standard. The front and rear headrests have been improved and the audio system is now MP3 compatible. A Bang & Olufsen audio system, 20 inch wheels, and iPod integration are now available.

What is the Predicted Reliability:

J.D. Power ratings are not available. Problems with the first generation included brake noise, and problematic heated steering wheels. It was recalled three times for spontaneously activating airbags, improperly sealed tie-rods, and fuel vapor leaks. The current generation has had issues with engine noise, noisy power steering, and inoperative automatic suspensions. It was recalled once in 2006 for a wiring harness that could deactivate the passenger airbag. Expect above average reliability. The basic warranty lasts for four years or 50,000 miles.

Analysis Of Safety Ratings And Features:

Crash test scores are not available. Anti-lock brakes, brakeforce distribution, full side airbags, active headrests, tire-pressure monitoring, AWD, and stability control come standard.
