2008 Mazda CX-9 Review
The CX-9 is a sporty CUV that debuted in 2007. It resembles the CX-7, but is more closely related to the Ford Edge. With a full three rows, the CX-9 can seat seven passengers while still maintaining the soul of a sports car.
The BuyingAdvice Team Says:
The Mazda CX-9 is a versatile crossover utility vehicle that manages to retain some sportiness. Mazda die-hards will be disappointed in its cornering, but the average buyer will like its capabilities tight handling, and powerful engine. The interior design is well put together and attractive as well. It's a capable CUV with sporty leanings, but don't expect a sports car.

What Others Are Saying:
"On the positive side, ignore the advertising come-on, cool your jets and all's well that ends well. The CX-9's dynamics strike a satisfying compromise between perky and plush, delivering a well-refined driving experience. And accelerative challenged kiddie schleppers can cool their jets safe in the knowledge that Mazda's deployed their safety knowledge throughout, including a full complement of Nannies, airbags aplenty and the government's highest side and frontal impact ratings." - The Truth About Cars
"When you're behind the wheel of a Mazda, it's like driving a bargain BMW...Looks like a big wagon, doesn't drive like one. - Popular Mechanics
"The CX-9 would serve well carrying the junior high school's starting basketball team one day and a new kitchen sink from Lowe's the next. It's versatile. It won't tear around corners or slalom through traffic the way a Miata or RX-8 might; it's not designed to do that. And if it's loaded with a family, should it do that? Adapting to consumer demands is a good thing for a car company to pursue, and if people are clamoring for another three-row crossover, they won't miss the CX-9." - The Detroit News
