2008 Jeep Patriot Review

2008 Jeep Patriot Review The Patriot is a compact CUV that debuted in 2007. It's based on the same platform as the Compass, but offers bolder, more masculine styling. Its toughness is more than just skin deep as it's available with full four-wheel drive and an off-road package that makes it an off-road tumbler.

The BuyingAdvice Team Says:

The Jeep Patriot is the first true successor to the Cherokee and the big brother of the relatively dainty Compass. While the Compass offers car-like handling for urban adventurers, the Patriot opts for rougher terrain. It's hard to beat its features for the price. But it's best suited for off-road enthusiasts, as the Patriot's performance on paved roads is outdone by some competitors.

What's New For 2008:

A number of new standard features are added for 2008. Air conditioning is now included, as is the option of manual shifting with its continuously variable transmission. Chrome highlights have been added to the interior. The Limited now includes tire pressure monitoring and a rearview mirror dimmer.

What Others Are Saying:

"Even though the Patriot is six years late, we can't think of a better replacement for the Cherokee." - Automobile Magazine

"The all-new Jeep Patriot more than fills the bill, it defines new territory...With a full complement of safety features, it will be hard to find more capability and value for the money." - The New York Times
