Head-To-Head Competition:

The Chrysler Pacifica has a larger V6 and standard AWD, but costs almost $4,000 more. The Honda Pilot also has a larger V6, but costs over $3,000 more. The Kia Sorento has a V6, AWD, and a roof rack for $2,500 more.

What Others Are Saying:

“Although we really liked the 2007 Mazda CX-7 during our test period, it wasn’t outstanding in any particular way. It came equipped with a good stereo system and good navigation, and proved practical for getting around, and even fun to drive at times.”C|Net

“Let’s face it: it doesn’t matter who makes an SUV or how they tune the chassis. A sports car is a low-slung, properly balanced vehicle with razor-sharp reflexes. SUVs are too high and too heavy to provide even a remotely similar driving experience. Mazda ought to know better. As the progenitors of the superb MX-5 and tightly focused RX-8, they should know that there’s only one sort of vehicle that drives like a sports car: a sports car.”The Truth About Cars

“So all in all, I’d have to say the 2007 Mazda CX-7 is a pretty darn impressive package. It looks good, goes fast, and aside from a slight drinking problem it lacks the bad habits of most SUVs. What I like most is that it’s individualistic.”About.com
