2009 Hybrids with Power
Buying a hybrid vehicle doesn’t have to mean giving up on luxury and power. There are a number of 2009 hybrid cars that have a powerful engine as well as respectable mpg:
2009 Lexus GS 450h: The 2009 GS Hybrid, a luxury sedan, is equipped with a standard 3.5-liter, V6 hybrid engine. The hybrid powertrain produces 340 horsepower and can accelerate the GS 450h from zero-to-60 mph in just 5.2 seconds. It also achieves Super-Low-Emissions Vehicle (SULEV) status. It gets 22mpg in the city and 25mpg on the highway. A variable speed automatic transmission is standard. 2009 Chrysler Aspen Hybrid: The 2009 Aspen Hybrid, an 8-passenger SUV, is equipped with a standard 5.7-liter, HEMI V-8 engine and electric motor that deliver roughly 345 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque. The Aspen can tow up to 6,000 pounds. It achieves 19mpg in the city and 20mpg on the highway. A variable speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard. 2009 Dodge Durango Hybrid: The 2009 Durango Hybrid, an 8-passenger SUV, is powered by a two-mode hybrid system that combines a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with electric motors for a total output of 385 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque. It can haul up to 6,000 pounds. It achieves 19mpg in the city and 20mpg on the highway. A variable speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard. A 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard. It’s capable of towing 5,800 lbs. in RWD and 5,600 lbs. in 4WD. It achieves 20mpg in the city and 21mpg on the highway.
